How Whitholm Began

Whitholm was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2009 by a small group of solicitors who believed that estate planning deserved a different kind of practice — one that approached each family as a whole, not merely a set of documents to be processed.

The name Whitholm draws from the old English concept of a homestead or enclosed garden — a place of quiet, lasting order. It reflects our conviction that a well-prepared estate is one of the most meaningful gifts a person can leave behind.

Over the years, we have assisted more than eight hundred Malaysian families with wills, probate administration, and trust structures. We work with both Muslim and non-Muslim estates, and we are deeply familiar with the interplay of Malaysian civil law and Islamic inheritance principles.

Our Mission

"To make thoughtful estate planning accessible to every Malaysian family — regardless of estate size — so that those who come after may inherit with clarity and peace."

Our Values

  • Patience. We do not rush families. These conversations take the time they deserve.
  • Transparency. Plain language, clear fees, and honest advice — always.
  • Discretion. Every matter is handled with the highest standard of confidentiality.
  • Precision. Legal documents that accurately capture your intentions, without ambiguity.

Estate Planning Expertise in Kuala Lumpur

Whitholm serves clients across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley who are thinking carefully about what they leave behind. Our work spans will preparation, grant of probate applications, letters of administration, inter vivos trust creation, and testamentary trust drafting — all within the Malaysian legal framework.

We work with a wide range of clients: business owners planning for succession, parents wishing to arrange guardianship for minor children, individuals with property held across different asset classes, and families navigating the administration of a loved one's estate.

Our office at Jalan Bangsar is easily accessible from most parts of Kuala Lumpur. We also accommodate clients who prefer to meet remotely, and we take care to explain each step of the legal process in plain, accessible language.
